Bellarmine softball ends season with loss to North Alabama

Bellarmine University’s softball team ended its regular season on May 2 with a 9-0 defeat against North Alabama at Hilda B. Anderson Softball Stadium.

The game marked the conclusion of the Knights’ 2026 campaign, in which they finished with an overall record of 12-38 and a conference record of 5-19 in Atlantic Sun Conference play.

North Alabama took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Lions continued their offensive momentum by adding three more runs in the third inning, highlighted by a two-run home run and an RBI triple. They secured another three-run inning in the fourth, bringing their lead to 9-0 and ending the game under the mercy rule.

For Bellarmine, sophomore Lele Bennett and freshmen Lily Jones and Tia Ice each recorded one base hit during the contest.
