Soul Florence – Barbara Ann Jones, 86, of Florence, passed away on July 29, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of creativity and love. Born on March 6, 1939, to George and Dorothy Placke, Barbara, affectionately known as Barb, embraced life with boundless enthusiasm and passion.

Barb was a beloved member of her community and a dedicated attendee at The Vineyard Church in Florence. Her artistic talents shone through her skill as an oil painter, capturing the beauty of life with each stroke of the brush. Alongside painting, she found joy in scrapbooking and ceramics, activities that allowed her creativity to flourish. Barb’s playful nature was evident in her love for bingo, fishing, roller skating, and playing cards, activities that reflected her vibrant spirit.

Her memory will be treasured by her sons, Mike and Daniel Jones, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Amanda Jones, who brought immense joy into her life. Barb’s loving presence extended to her brother, Robert Placke, enriching the lives of those around her.

Barb was preceded in death by her siblings, Jimmy, Genevieve, Mary, and Bud Placke, whom she held dear in her heart. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home – Chapel A in Covington, Kentucky. Visitation will commence at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., providing an opportunity to honor and reflect on the beautiful life of Barbara Ann Jones.

As we gather to remember Barbara, her vibrant spirit, creativity, and love for life will be cherished and preserved in the hearts of all who knew her. Floral Hills Memorial Gardens will serve as a peaceful final resting place for this remarkable individual.
