Bellarmine University’s AJ Swader was named the ASUN Conference Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Apr. 13.

Swader’s recognition comes after a strong week at bat, where he went 9-for-14 overall and helped lead Bellarmine to a conference series sweep over Eastern Kentucky. His performance included two doubles, two home runs, and ten runs batted in, with a slugging percentage of 1.231.

A graduate student from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Swader has been an important part of the Knights’ lineup this season. He currently leads his team with sixteen doubles and nine home runs while maintaining a .379 batting average. In addition to leading his team in these categories, he also tops the ASUN Conference in both batting average and runs batted in.

This is Swader’s first time receiving the ASUN Player of the Week honor this season and marks him as the first Bellarmine player to earn a weekly award this year.
